More Apple Fun!

Painting with Apples
I drew giant apples on cardboard, one for each child. I gave them each a half and apple and red paint. The kids dipped the apples in the paint and painted their apple with apples!

Apple Pie Tasting!

I thought it would be cool to give the kids a chance to try apple pie! I found theses super cute mini apple pies at Walmart for $.63! I got them each their own just for the experience of having their OWN pie! :) Im not sure what they really expected but once they tried it they weren't really as impressed by it as I was hoping. I am not sure if they expected it more like cake and less like pie. But a few bites later Jax, Ethan and Payton were over the whole Apple Pie tasting. Although Shae LOVED it and ate her whole pie! So 1 out of 4 is a success in my opinion!

Apples. Apples. Everywhere!

Apple Tasting:
It's apple week. We have a lot of cool things planned. Monday we started with apple tasting at snack time. We tasted red, green , & yellow apples.
The kids loved that they each got to try all three. When we were finished I had the kids tell me which they liked the best and made a little chart! Im thinking they picked based on color rather than taste. But hey! I just asked them which they liked...I didn't say taste.

What type of apple do you like best?!

STORY TIME:
The Little House with No Doors and No Windows and a Star Inside
Author Unknown

(Have an apple, a cutting board, and a knife ready for the ending.  Enjoy the apple slices after this story or use for painting like we did!)

Now we see the STAR...Do YOU!?

ART TIME: Bingo Dot Apples

I traced some apples shapes onto white card stock and let the kids use bingo markers to fill them in. Gotta love the $ store! this craft cost me about 25 cents a kid!!

Big A, Little a

This past week we started our "school" curriculum! The kids are really getting the hang of the circle time mats. & love the idea of having school time. They are loving the new songs we are doing at Circle and almost know all the words to them already!! We added a new calendar and weather chart too.

Big A  Little a
I added a BIG A and a LITTLE a to 2 seperate containers. I took 10 eggs. On 5 I taped big A's and on the other 5 I taped little a's. I had the kids take turns to sort the eggs!

In no time they could each do it without help! In no way am I expecting them to remember or "Know" these...although some do. Its all about introduction!! :)

Life's about dancing in the rain..

It had been really rainy all week and we had been spending a LOT of time in the driveway playing w bikes at any sign of sunshine. One afternoon while Shae & Sierra were being picked up, it started to rain. We all got a little wet while I helped Mark get the girls fast in the car, then it started to POUR!! I knew I had Ethan for just about 15 more minutes, so I striped them down and let them play! (FYI, my son would be in under roos too, except he isnt wearing any...we are going through a no underwear or no pants phase. That day, pants won.)
