I'm Corey Ruffin (aka CoCo) owner of CoCo's Playhouse. I like to believe I run the show around here but who really knows how true that is!? I have 3-6 kids in my care everyday. The exact number depends on who is enrolled and how the schedule is working during that time. I have about 18 years of childcare experience and an educational background in Early Childhood Development. I worked as a preschool teacher for over 5 years prior to becoming a full time wife, mommy, & entrepreneur. After getting married and starting a family, I chose to be a stay at home mom. Unfortunately financially we couldn't do it exactly how we had planned. But like the saying goes; we plan and God laughs! So this business woman had to roll up her sleeves, put some dreams into action and CoCo's Playhouse is the result! I couldn't be happier or prouder. I am married to a wonderful man, Jason. He is the Head Golf Professional at a local golf course here in Cape Coral. We have one son, Jaxson & one on the way. We are excited to soon welcome our 2nd child, a little boy in May 2012.
One child I ALWAYS have is of course my own, Jaxson. He is a ridiculously verbal 3 year old with a comedic & showman presence that puts his (ex) actress mother to shame! He can crack you up and boss you around all in one sentence. His favorite color is black & loves anything super (batman, spiderman, you name it!). He loves having "his kids" here to play with. He favorite thing to do is go to the golf course and practice with his daddy & of course take golf cart rides. He is a charmer and an overall super awesome kid!
Ethan is my weekday child because he is here everyday! He's a very adorable & super curious 3 year old. He is a month older than Jax and his best friend in the world! E has been coming here since he was 1 year old and the boys are more like brothers than best buddies. Ethan is a very smart and funny little boy. He loves his brown blankie, the color yellow, and playing superheros. He is very adventurous especially with his partner in crime.
Payton is my breath of fresh girly air! She is 4 going on 14 and cracks me up. She is in constant big sister mode and loves to tell the boys what to do. She quickly lets me know if they fall out of line. She loves pink and anything fancy! She likes to play house and make believe. You often can see here wearing the Cinderella dress up heels all over the house! She likes to do art projects, dance to all kinds of music, and is super helpful with little Sierra.
Shaelynn is the mama hen around here. She took on that role with conviction when her baby sister came to join us here at the playhouse. She loves Dora & The Princesses. Her favorite color is purple and it showed at her Purple 3rd Birthday this past June! She likes to guide the boys on how to behave and quickly lets me know when they aren't following the rules. She loves singing and making up her own words and is a very talented little artist.
Sierra is one of the happiest little ones I've ever been around. This one year old is full of energy and thinks she is old like the rest of the group! She is mostly all smiles but you can very much tell when she is NOT happy. She LOVES to chase after the boys growling at them and also play just like the girls. On the days she isn't here & her sister is I can often hear her from the car as she gets sad that she's missing her friends! She is growing so fast and I get to witness the fun.
